John Wayne Pioneer Trail

From Lake Easton State Park we reached the John Wayne Pioneer Trail and decided to hike it.  The trail was pretty wide and easy to walk.  We were disappointed when we reached the bridge and found out that the caves were closed; but the weather was beautiful and the dogs had a blast.  It's a pretty easy trail...at least the portion we hiked...just watch out of bicyclists they don't always pay attention to their surroundings.

Elwha River Trail

This was my first hike in the Olympic Mountains and I really enjoyed it.  This hike is for all ages because there are a lot of different trails you can go on.  Once you enter the trail you will see a lot of signs directing you to other trails, there are even camping areas along the way.  We hope to return to the trail for an overnight hike as it's a easy hike, but a lot of fun.  Just be careful for bears and deer...we saw deer, thankfully we didn't see a bear but there were warnings all over the trail so make sure to bring your bear bell and bear spray to keep yourself safe.

Mount Si Trail

This was a fantastic trail, but not for beginners. It was a hard trail, but once you got to the top it was worth the pain. The view was beautiful. We stopped up top and ate lunch then headed back down. If you think going up was hard wait to go back down...it's rough. But if you take your time and are prepared for this hike it's worth it!

Little Si Trail

This was the perfect hike for beginners trying to look for a little harder of a trail. The trail wasn't too hard, but definitely had some hard spots. We brought two of our dogs on this trail and they did great, just make sure you get there early as the parking fills up fast and this trail is very popular...lots of dogs and people of all ages.

Tiger Mountain Trail - North

If you are looking for a trail where you can bring your dog…this one works perfectly. The only problem with this trail is all of the mountain bikers who are also on this trail. Be aware that most of them don't have bells so you will need to pay attention to them. The trail only takes a couple of hours to complete if you take it slow, so pace yourself and enjoy.

Tiger Mountain - South

This trail starts at the south end of Tiger Mountain and is only 4 miles unless you continue on to the next Tiger Mountain trail. All trails are connected so if you feel that 2 miles isn't enough keep going. It's so peaceful on this trail and hardly anyone uses it, so soak it up because most trails are full of people.

Round-trip: 4.0 miles

Carter Falls Trail

The trail starts off in the woods and is pretty easy, then it goes into a rock area where you can see the top of Mt. Rainier...it's beautiful. Then the next part of the trail is straight up, you feel like you are walking up the mountain.

Round-trip: 7.2 miles

Flaming Geyser State Park Trail

This is also great for people who just started hiking.
